Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

My name is Katniss Everdeen. Why am I not dead? I should be dead.

Katniss Everdeen, girl on fire, has survived, even though her home has been destroyed. Gale has escaped. Katniss's family is safe. Peeta has been captured by the Capitol. District 13 really does exist. There are rebels. There are new leaders. A revolution is unfolding.

It is by design that Katniss was rescued from the arena in the cruel and haunting Quarter Quell, and it is by design that she has long been part of the revolution without knowing it. District 13 has come out of the shadows and is plotting to overthrow the Capitol. Everyone, it seems, has had a hand in the carefully laid plans -- except Katniss.

The success of the rebellion hinges on Katniss's willingness to be a pawn, to accept responsibility for countless lives, and to change the course of the future of Panem. To do this, she must put aside her feelings of anger and distrust. She must become the rebels' Mockingjay -- no matter what the personal cost.

*Spoiler ALERT!*

So this book has taken me months to finish and I'm so glad I finished it.(And I'm also sick so I thought I should just finish it!) All I can say is WOW it was such a sad but yet good ending. I'm still trying to collect all my thoughts on how I feel about it. Ok so now onto what I disliked and liked.

The reason it took so long for me was because it was soooo slow in the beginning and I couldn't get into it. Second problem with the book; what is with all of the deaths? I mean Prim, and Finnick!! I was so upset about their deaths because she kind of just said well Finnick dies because of the crazy mutants end. of. story. I was like what....all I gotta say is Collins dismissed many of the deaths in the story.

Now onto a positive note. I was truly surprised in a good way that she ended up with Peeta. It really was a nice ending to know that everything turned out well. But do I think Katniss truly deserves Peeta, no I really don't. But they make each other happy and balance each other. I feel like Katniss and Gales relationship would have been very toxic and chaotic. I don't know, just my opinion but it would have been interesting to see what would have happened if she ended up with Gale?

Overall I love this series and am sad to have it end for me but I think it ended perfect.I give this book 4 out of 5 stars. I won't be forgetting Katniss's story anytime soon. It taught me to never take anything I have for granted and to always spend time with my loved ones, to always have strength in the toughest times, fight for your beliefs, and to never take life for granted.ever.

Happy Reading,

She must fight off assassins that want her dead, an Immortal rite of passage that takes her to India and a deadly disease that no one has thus far survived. Danger seems to lurk around every corner as Eden struggles to keep her true identity a secret and protect those that she loves. Eden must find a way to be with Kiran, or turn her back on him forever and fight to save her people. Hopeless Magic is the second installment of the Star-Crossed series.

*This was sent to me but that does not effect my review*
Here is the first book Reckless Magic review.
I was so excited to start this because I had high expectations from the first one and let me say this totally went above and beyond!

As I said above this was even better than Reckless Magic! Ms. Higginson has a wonderful and vivid writing style that I love. Seriously she should be more recognized. Eden, the main character is one of the most realest characters ever. Don't get me wrong her friends are wonderful as well. Eden is seriously just like a teenage girl; she complains, falls in love to easily, and is still trying to find herself, like many other teenagers. If you read my review on Reckless Magic you will see I left the book liking Kiran a lot but I have changed my mind and don't like him for various reasons which I won't reveal.Hahaha anyways there's not much more to say except that I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars! Seriosley go check out Reckless Magic and for that matter Hopeless Magic as well.

Happy Reading!!

In My Mailbox #4

Hey everyone this week I got two books for review
both by Brian Powe and both are from the Birthday Trilogy!
Seventeen-year-old Cameron Martin has a huge problem: he’s aging a whole year of his life with each passing day. High school is hard enough; imagine rapidly aging from seventeen to seventy in a matter of weeks, with no logical explanation, and with prom, graduation, and the state championship basketball game on the horizon. That’s what happens to Cameron, a mischievous pretty boy who has never had to face a day looking anything but perfect. It starts with a slowing metabolism, followed by gray hair, wrinkles, and heart palpitations. Within days his girlfriend dumps him, his plastic surgeon father forces him to get a facelift, and his terrifying high school librarian seduces him to have sex with her. All he wants to do is go back to normal, but no one, not even the best doctors, can diagnose his condition. When he finds love with a young woman who may or may not be an all-powerful witch, he realizes that the only hope for his survival might be with the one person who instigated his condition in the first place...

Cameron Martin has a huge problem: he’s aging a whole year of his life with each passing day… again. And this time... he's going backward!

When Cameron proposes to his beloved witch of a girlfriend Liesel, he thinks life can’t get any better. But when he reluctantly breaks off the engagement just days before the wedding, Liesel angrily unleashes another curse on the unlucky guy, this time making him age backward, from eighteen, all the way to zero.

Making matters worse, Liesel mysteriously disappears, leaving Cameron with no options, except watching himself rapidly shrink into a helpless child. Will Liesel be able to save his life again? Or will Cameron ultimately fall prey to his girlfriend's wicked spell?

Have a wonderful week!

It all boils down to one mind-bending conclusion: They have to get off this ship.

Review: Heist Society

Heist Society by Ally Carter

Published by: Hyperion Book CH
Released:February 9th,2010
Pages:287 Paperback

When Katarina Bishop was three, her parents took her on a trip to the Louvre…to case it. For her seventh birthday, Katarina and her Uncle Eddie traveled to Austria…to steal the crown jewels. When Kat turned fifteen, she planned a con of her own—scamming her way into the best boarding school in the country, determined to leave the family business behind. Unfortunately, leaving “the life” for a normal life proves harder than she’d expected.

Soon, Kat's friend and former co-conspirator, Hale, appears out of nowhere to bring Kat back into the world she tried so hard to escape. But he has a good reason: a powerful mobster has been robbed of his priceless art collection and wants to retrieve it. Only a master thief could have pulled this job, and Kat's father isn't just on the suspect list, he is the list. Caught between Interpol and a far more deadly enemy, Kat’s dad needs her help.

For Kat, there is only one solution: track down the paintings and steal them back. So what if it's a spectacularly impossible job? She's got two weeks, a teenage crew, and hopefully just enough talent to pull off the biggest heist in her family's history--and, with any luck, steal her life back along the way.

My Review:

Katarina Bishop has a life that many have never heard of; shes a con artist. It's a family business that has been going on too long to remember. She leaves the business to try and lead as normal of a life as she can have. But the handsome Hale brings here back and it's a good reason to. Her father is in trouble because an evil man named Arturo Taccone who says that her father stole his paintings. But how? That's what Kat and her team have to figure out otherwise something bad could happen to her father.....

Let me tell you all I was so excited to start this book. I mean come on a heist society how awesome is that, it's a very original idea which is what drew me in. (This is going to be kind of a short review fyi.) Kat was an interesting character and Ms.Carter has an interesting writing style. To be honest I wasn't particularly fond of it, she added so much that didn't have to be used. Regardless I didn't have problems reading the rest of the book its just it dragged on and was confusing.

I thought the characters worked really great with one another and I'm glad that I saw growth in them. Hale swoon was amazing seriously I would love to hear that story from his point of view! I liked Kat but I felt like I wasn't being told everything which I know cons are supposed to hide stuff but come on, its a book! Overall it was a great book I rate it 4 out of 5 stars. I will read the next one but will most likely check it out from the library. I still recommend you all to read it and if you have share with me your thoughts in the comments!

Toddles for now!
